Analysis and Synthesis of Dynamic Systems in Networked Environment

Communication network not only leads to great revolution for control systems, but also brings challenges to traditional control theory. Hence, the problem of analysis and synthesis of dynamic systems in networked environment has been one of the research hotspots in international academic areas and industry fields. In the context of many engineering projects such as networked complex production and manufacture processes, aerospace vehicle control, this project investigates the problems of time-varying transmission delay, random package dropout, data misorder, quantization and coding-and-decoding error that are caused by communication network, and establishes a unified mathematical model that incorporates communication parameters for networked dynamic systems. New stability criteria for time-delay systems with multiple delay components, convex optimization design algorithms for state- and output-feedback controllers, and state estimation and fault detection strategies are proposed for systems with network communications. This project sets up a unified theoretical framework for modeling, control, estimation and fault detection of dynamic systems in networked environment.
